About the position

The Graduate Program Coordinator at Harvard University plays a crucial role in the Department of Economics by serving as the principal administrator for the graduate program. This position involves managing event coordination, communication activities, and providing general administrative support, including financial processing and fellowship awards coordination. The coordinator interacts with PhD students, faculty, and various stakeholders within and outside the university, ensuring the smooth operation of the graduate program.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key contact for PhD program inquiries and manage documentation and student records.
  • Facilitate the internal application and award process for student prizes, fellowships, and grants.
  • Coordinate the dissertation defense application process and provide administrative support for alumni engagement activities.
  • Handle financial processing and tracking for the graduate program, including reimbursements and program-related invoices.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute various events throughout the academic year, managing budgets and vendor negotiations.
  • Develop, write, and edit materials for the department's graduate studies program and facilitate internal communications among graduate students.

Requirements

  • 3 years of work experience; education beyond high school can count towards experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
