About the position

The Department of Aerospace Engineering (AERO) at the University of Michigan is seeking a dedicated Graduate Program Coordinator who is passionate about supporting students in their academic journey. This role is crucial within the AERO Student Services Team, which is committed to delivering high-quality programs and resources tailored to the needs of graduate students. The Graduate Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of the Graduate Program, ensuring a smooth management of the entire graduate student lifecycle. This includes advising AERO Graduate Students, leading recruitment and admissions processes, onboarding new students, and managing graduate student funding. In this position, the Graduate Coordinator will work closely with a diverse group of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and various partners across the university. The role requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels. The Graduate Coordinator will report directly to the Department Administrator and will receive functional management from the Department Graduate Program Chair, while also collaborating with the Graduate Program Advisor. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in academic advising or student services.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
