About the position

The Graduate Programs Manager at Boston University's College of Engineering is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the academic programs within the Division of Systems Engineering and the Division of Materials Science Engineering. This role serves as the primary liaison between faculty, graduate students, and university administration, focusing on recruitment, retention, and providing superior service. The manager also handles recruiting for division programs, manages the graduate programs website, and coordinates events related to the student and graduate programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all activities associated with the academic programs of the Division of Systems Engineering and the Division of Materials Science Engineering.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between faculty, graduate students, and College and University Administration.
  • Handle all recruiting for Division programs.
  • Update the graduate programs pages for four program tracks each semester and annually.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Manager to highlight student achievements and provide statistical updates for reports and communications.
  • Coordinate and publicize student and graduate program-related division events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Management experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Computer literacy on both Mac and PC platforms required.
  • Software expertise in Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver, FileMaker Pro or other database solutions, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in higher education administration.
  • Familiarity with graduate program management.
