About the position

The Graduate Research Assistant position at the College of Arts and Sciences is designed for graduate students who will assist faculty and researchers in conducting research on various sponsored projects. This role involves working under the guidance of Principal Investigators and contributing to funded projects across different research areas. Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty and researchers in conducting research on sponsored projects.
  • Collect and analyze data samples under the guidance of Principal Investigators.
  • Manipulate data to produce charts and graphs to display trends.
  • Interpret data results for reporting purposes.
  • Work in remote locations, sometimes under extreme conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and enrollment in a graduate program at the University of Alaska.
  • Knowledge of data collection and entry procedures.
  • Proficiency in using computerized spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to interpret data results and report findings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with research methodologies in various disciplines.
