About the position

The Division of Dermatology at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) to join our innovative and progressive faculty and staff. This part-time, temporary position is designed for students currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program within KU's School of Medicine. The GRA will play a crucial role in supporting various research projects, including Project Echo, and will assist with grant applications and the preparation of research-related materials. The position requires meticulous documentation of data and research activities, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and maintained. As a GRA, you will be expected to demonstrate superior organizational and administrative skills, along with effective time management and communication abilities. Professionalism at all levels is essential, as you will be interacting with faculty, staff, and potentially external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, is required, and familiarity with research tools such as REDCap and EndNote is considered a plus. A strong background in quantitative analysis and excellent analytical skills are also necessary to succeed in this role. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, the ability to respond promptly to requests, and a commitment to completing tasks on time. Self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills are critical, as you will be working closely with a dynamic research team. This position reports directly to the Division Director of Dermatology, providing an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience in a research environment while contributing to impactful projects in the field of dermatology.

Responsibilities

  • Support research projects, including Project Echo.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program within KU's School of Medicine (minimum of 6 credit hours).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with REDCap and EndNote is a plus.
