About the position

The Graduate Student-R D - Student Analyst - Student Engineer position at SwRI is an exciting opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. This internship, set for the summer of 2025, focuses on the application of advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques to develop innovative solutions for various artificial intelligence system applications. The role involves joining project teams to research and develop new data analytics objectives tailored to meet the needs of SwRI clients. As a part of the team, interns will apply state-of-the-art data science and machine learning software solutions, engaging in discussions with team members to explore technical solutions to complex problems. The position also emphasizes the development of tools and techniques that enhance the team's research and development capabilities, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation. Interns will have the chance to work with modern and traditional machine learning algorithms, contributing to the creation of intelligent automated systems that can sense, think, and act in the real world. Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • BS candidates must have relevant academic research and/or internship experience
  • MS and PhD candidates must have completed some graduate work related to data science, data analytics, machine learning, computer vision, or artificial intelligence
  • Training in perception (computer vision/image processing, lidar, and/or radar) software solutions for various intelligent system applications
  • C++, python, and ROS experience required
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required
