About the position

The Grant Accounting Manager at the University of Arkansas is responsible for managing all post-award accounting and grant management activities for a significant two-year grant from the State of Arkansas. This role involves coordination with various departments to ensure proper financial management, compliance with grant requirements, and effective communication with project stakeholders. The position emphasizes the importance of reliable attendance and the ability to foster positive working relationships within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all post-award accounting and grant management activities for a large two-year grant from the State of Arkansas.
  • Coordinate with Business Services to process purchasing.
  • Review and approve all subaward reporting and invoicing.
  • Manage budget categories and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Principal Investigator (PI) and other key personnel to update and manage project goals.
  • Assist with financial and project reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, general business, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in auditing, accounting, or a related area.
  • At least two years of experience in project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated experience with financial management and reporting.
  • Experience with Workday accounting system.
  • Demonstrated experience working with sponsored research accounting.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and principles of accounting.
