About the position

The Grant Administration Manager (Technical Manager IV) is responsible for overseeing the administration of Commercial Vehicle Safety (CVS) grants, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and coordinating programmatic evaluations. This role involves preparing reports on grant progress, reviewing timesheets for accuracy, and serving as the point of contact for invoice processing related to grants. The position also includes maintaining inventory records and providing administrative support for new reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Administers, develops, monitors, and evaluates grant activities associated with the MCSAP grant and related supplemental grants.
  • Prepares documentation to qualify CVS programs for federal grant funds and justify state matching funds.
  • Identifies tasks and objectives necessary for the management of the MCSAP and recommends funding sources.
  • Establishes MCSAP grant objectives in conjunction with ISP, USDOT, and CVS program administrators.
  • Drafts annual grant and supplemental proposals, ensuring incorporation of program objectives and amendments.
  • Reviews and processes fiscal transactions for all agencies involved in the expenditure of grant funds.
  • Monitors progress of grant activities within various programs.
  • Prepares and submits timely quarterly progress reports on grant goals and objectives.
  • Evaluates MCSAP grant tasks and tracks Compliance Officer training and certification.
  • Assists with program presentations on hazardous materials and motor carrier safety regulations.
  • Coordinates the purchasing of MCSAP related supplies and equipment.

Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in public administration or business administration plus two years of experience with grant administration or invoice processing, or eight years of relevant experience.
  • General working knowledge of governmental operations.
  • Experience working with transportation grants and compliance requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make presentations to large groups.
