About the position

The Grant Manager at Instituto del Progreso Latino plays a crucial role in the Development and Communication Department, responsible for researching, developing, and managing grant proposals and reports from foundations, corporations, and government entities. This position requires strong writing skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and the capacity to foster relationships with various stakeholders. The Grant Manager will also support the organization's fundraising initiatives and participate in community engagement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual grants prospecting/submission/reporting cycle in collaboration with the COO and other teammates.
  • Write, produce, and submit compelling LOIs, proposals, reports, and other documents to private and public sector funding agencies.
  • Organize pre-proposal strategy meetings with program, development, and leadership staff to assess funding needs and opportunities.
  • Manage and develop efficient internal processes regarding grants, including a grants calendar and communication with key staff.
  • Conduct prospect research to ensure a continuous pipeline for new funding.
  • Compile and maintain data, demographic information, and agency document files for accurate proposals and reports.
  • Provide regular goal and progress reports for staff, finance department, and agency leaders.
  • Maintain accurate records and files related to grants and funder relations using donor management software.
  • Collaborate with agency leaders to develop and maintain relationships with philanthropic and corporate foundations.
  • Participate in the organization's annual gala and other fundraising events by supporting sponsorship solicitation and event management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a closely related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in development, particularly in grant writing and management.
  • Experience managing proposals, reports, and systems for large grant portfolios.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector, including grant submission and administration processes.
  • Proven track record of funded grant proposals, with experience in government grants highly desired.
  • Advanced writing skills in various formats, including complex proposals and business communications.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and experience with grant management or CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated cultural and economic sensitivity.
