About the position

The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, developing, writing, and submitting grant proposals for Atautchikun, LLC, a subsidiary of NANA Regional Corporation. This role is crucial for securing funding by crafting compelling applications that align with various grantors' criteria, thereby supporting the organization's mission and vision. The position offers flexibility in location, allowing for work from Anchorage, Kotzebue, or remotely within the NANA Region, contingent on candidate review and company approval.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities from various sources.
  • Collaborate with program managers and finance to gather necessary information for grant proposals.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals that align with the organization's mission.
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations set by funding agencies.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with grantors and funding organizations.
  • Track and manage the status of grant applications, including deadlines and submissions.
  • Stay informed about changes in the grant writing landscape and seek professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Planning, or Rural Development preferred).
  • Proven experience in grant writing with a successful track record of securing funding.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting related to grants.
