About the position

The Grant Writer position at USC Aiken is a full-time, temporary role responsible for providing institutional-level support in identifying and securing grant funding opportunities. The role requires high productivity with limited supervision and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop competitive proposals that align with the institution's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the director of sponsored research, faculty, staff of non-academic units, and the grant accountant to identify funding opportunities and develop competitive proposals that align with the institution's strategic goals and comply with funding agency guidelines.
  • Drafts, reviews, and edits proposal narratives and supporting documents, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and persuasiveness of proposal content.
  • Coordinates the proposal development process, including timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.
  • Conducts research on funding opportunities and trends in higher education.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years experience in contracts and grant administration activities, or equivalency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in grant writing in an institution of Higher Education.
  • Knowledge of federal grant/contract regulations and procedures.
