The Grants & Compliance Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of grants within an investment firm or foundation. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations, managing the entire grant lifecycle, and maintaining the integrity of funding processes. The role is ideal for someone seeking a part-time opportunity, with a focus on grants accounting and compliance in the nonprofit sector.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire grant lifecycle, from proposal development and submission to monitoring and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with funding source guidelines by reviewing and understanding grant terms and conditions.
  • Record accurate, consistent, and timely accounting to facilitate audit readiness, tax support, and budget versus actual analysis.
  • Ensure spending is on track with grant budget projections and manage amendments.
  • Collaborate with sub-grantees to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with US private foundation regulations and Indian FCRA laws.
  • Coordinate and review legal documents such as grant agreements, sub-award agreements, and service contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including general accounting, compliance, budgets, and grants management.
  • Experience in grants accounting with an investment firm, foundation, or family office.
