About the position

The Grants Financial Analyst is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of grants received by Fulton County, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This role involves maintaining budget records, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with various departments to ensure effective grant management. The position requires independent work under the supervision of the Grants Administrator and Grants Administrative Manager, focusing on financial administration and analysis of grant activities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain budget and financial records for each Fulton County grant.
  • Perform grant financial administration for all grants received, including Federal and State awards.
  • Maintain all contractual and financial records for each grant and establish a calendar of grant activities and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare, examine, and file periodic reports to granting agencies on time.
  • Review and approve all grant budgets in collaboration with key department staff.
  • Monitor and prepare financial cash flow information for each grant, maintaining documentation on revenues and expenditures.
  • Complete ongoing financial analysis, reconciliations, and reporting of all grant awards.
  • Ensure timely filing of reimbursements in accordance with grant guidelines.
  • Coordinate and monitor compliance with federal and state grant requirements.
  • Review grant financial activity to determine spending patterns and funding availability, providing reports at Grant Monitoring Roundtable meetings.
  • Prepare information for the annual CAFR and Single Audit reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in performing grant financial analyst duties.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to learn and apply county or departmental policies and procedures.
