About the position

The Grants Manager and Fiscal Officer at the University of Maine System is responsible for the pre- and post-award management of federal awards from NOAA's National Sea Grant Program, as well as additional grant competitions. This role requires strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and manage all fiscal activities of the department. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and is funded through soft-money, with a salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre- and post-award activities for Maine Sea Grant's federal awards.
• Oversee post-award management of additional grant competitions.
• Collaborate with NOAA, University of Maine administrators, and awardees on fiscal activities.
• Develop management systems and process documentation for grant management.
• Build and manage project budgets effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Expertise in developing management systems and process documentation.
• Experience in building and managing project budgets.
• Knowledge of federal grants guidance, rules, and regulations.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Google Office suite, spreadsheets, word processing, electronic databases, and accounting software.
• Advanced skills with spreadsheets.
