About the position

The Grants Manager at Jeremiah Program plays a vital role in generating grant revenue to support the organization's mission of disrupting the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children. This position involves managing the entire grant lifecycle, from identifying funding opportunities to proposal development and post-award reporting. The Grants Manager collaborates across departments to ensure that proposals reflect the organization's impact and aligns with funder priorities, while also leading a team of Grant Writers to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of the organization-wide grant process, including prospect research, proposal development, submission, and post-award reporting.
  • Ensure that all submissions are timely, aligned with funder requirements, and strategically communicate JP's mission and impact.
  • Develop and adapt proposal templates to align with specific grantor interests, ensuring each proposal is customized.
  • Oversee all post-award grant reporting, ensuring that all funding requirements are met and reports are submitted on time.
  • Conduct in-depth research to identify prospective corporate, foundation, organizational, and government grant opportunities.
  • Lead the team in the development of annual and long-term grant strategy, setting goals for grant revenue and identifying key funding priorities.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for grant-related activities within JP, liaising with various teams to gather information and ensure accurate narratives in submissions.
  • Manage and maintain a detailed calendar with approximately 250 annual deadlines, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Utilize fundraising software and data management tools to organize and analyze grant information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Political Science, Non-Profit Management, Community Organization and Advocacy, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in grant writing and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional ability to write and edit persuasive materials, including grant proposals and reports.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; experience with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising databases is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience writing for social justice or movement-building organizations is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop creative solutions.
