About the position
This position serves as a designer preparing preliminary, finished, and camera-ready graphic art for visual communication and reproduction. Job responsibilities include a variety of techniques involving line and full color art, computer graphics, lettering, specifying of type, charts, displays/exhibits, slides, maps, cartooning, logos, certificates, plus preparation of art for offset printing and digital distribution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary, finished, and camera-ready graphic art for visual communication and reproduction.
- Utilize various techniques involving line and full color art.
- Create computer graphics, lettering, charts, displays/exhibits, slides, maps, cartooning, logos, and certificates.
- Prepare art for offset printing and digital distribution.
Requirements
- Two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) with coursework in art, art education, or graphic art design.
- One year of experience in commercial art or graphic presentation for Graphic Arts Designer 9.
- Two years of experience in commercial art or graphic presentation equivalent to a Graphic Arts Designer, including one year equivalent to a Graphic Arts Designer 9 for Graphic Arts Designer 10.
- Three years of experience in commercial art or graphic presentation equivalent to a Graphic Arts Designer, including one year equivalent to a Graphic Arts Designer 10 for Graphic Arts Designer E11.
- Two years of commercial art or graphic presentation experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
