About the position

The Graphic Designer I role at AAA Washington involves creating and developing original design solutions that align with the brand's voice. The designer will work on various media including print, web, email, and social platforms, collaborating with copywriters and internal stakeholders to produce effective marketing materials. Responsibilities

  • Create and develop original design solutions that embody the brand voice.
  • Design for print, web, email, social media, video, and more, including marketing and sales materials.
  • Collaborate with copywriters to create clear and effective marketing and advertising solutions.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to implement and support marketing initiatives.
  • Follow schedules and established formats while working with the production manager and creative team.
  • Attend project-related meetings and contribute constructively.
  • Proofread marketing materials for accuracy and clarity.
  • Use imagination and experience to provide timely, creative design solutions across departments.
  • Apply advanced concepts of typography, color theory, and graphic design to produce quality layouts.
  • Determine the best style, technique, and medium for each project based on requirements.
  • Render conceptual ideas through sketches, mock-ups, and digital layouts.
  • Select appropriate type, photos, illustrations, and other media for projects.
  • Interpret corporate brand guidelines while keeping solutions simple and relevant.
  • Prepare digital files and mock-ups for vendors for printing or final production.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in graphic design or visual communication or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in print design and digital assets.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with marketing/advertising and collaboration with copywriters and graphic designers.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and navigating the internet.
  • Familiarity with MacOS and Mac hardware.
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign and other Creative Suite applications.
  • Ability to plan, design, and present target-specific design solutions.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software and print production processes.
  • Ability to adjust style and approach to rapidly changing tasks and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ year experience working at a creative agency or on an in-house creative team.
  • Familiarity with creative briefs.
