About the position

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Sign Designer to join our team. The Sign Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and producing signage for a variety of purposes, including advertising, branding, wayfinding, and informational signage. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and materials used in sign production. The Sign Designer must be able to collaborate effectively with clients and team members to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality designs that meet both aesthetic and functional objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Conceptualize and design signage solutions that effectively communicate messages and meet client specifications.
  • Create digital mock-ups and presentations to visualize proposed designs for client approval.
  • Select appropriate materials and production methods based on project requirements and budget considerations.
  • Prepare production-ready artwork files and specifications for sign fabrication.
  • Review proofs and prototypes to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in sign design and production.
  • Provide creative input and support for marketing initiatives, campaigns, and brand identity projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a sign designer or graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing sign design projects.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Knowledge of typography, color theory, layout design, and visual communication principles.
  • Familiarity with sign production techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in design execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of environmental graphic design principles and wayfinding systems.
  • Understanding of printing processes and color management for large-format printing.
