The Graphic Designer serves as a print and digital designer for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). This position is crucial in maintaining UTHSC's brand standards and ensuring that designs are consistent in style across the various colleges and departments. The Graphic Designer collaborates with the colleges and departments on campus, as well as with members of the Communications and Marketing team and external vendors, to design, layout, and coordinate the production of both print and digital marketing materials. In this role, the Graphic Designer is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and creating content and creative pieces that align with UTHSC's branding objectives. The designer must ensure that all creative outputs meet the established stylistic and branding standards. Working independently, the Graphic Designer follows brand and style objectives while also adhering to the general direction provided by the Creative Services Manager. The position requires effective communication skills to translate complex and technical information into formats that are easily consumable by the target audience. The Graphic Designer participates in brainstorming, planning, and strategy sessions with Communications and Marketing staff and clients, creating visual content that supports UTHSC campaigns and initiatives. Additionally, the designer manages projects, prioritizes work to meet deadlines, and collaborates with campus clients, team members, and vendors to determine the most effective communication and marketing strategies. The role also involves consulting with clients to analyze and assess their needs and objectives, coordinating with other divisions in Communications and Marketing to provide comprehensive communications and marketing campaigns, and working with the UT Licensing office to ensure accurate branding for promotional products. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
