About the position

The Graphic Designer, Creative + Paid Media Internship at APCO is designed for rising seniors and recent graduates, providing a full-time, paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic creative environment. Interns will work closely with various teams, including designers, media strategists, and copywriters, to support multimedia projects and contribute to client accounts. This role emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and professional development, allowing interns to enhance their portfolios while engaging in meaningful work that drives client success.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Studio team with multimedia creative projects
• Provide general production support, including photo sourcing and retouching
• Incorporate edits to print and digital projects such as one-pagers and social media graphics
• Prepare/edit PowerPoint presentations and Word documents
• Manage files and archiving
• Collaborate with creative directors, designers, producers, editors, writers, and project/account staff
• Monitor issues, news events, and competitor happenings
• Research topics and analyze findings
• Help with social media research and creation of social media content
• Assist in the development of client proposals
• Complete other tasks and projects as assigned

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating expertise in design, typography, composition, and color
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, etc.)
• Previous work experience in an agency or in-house creative team preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work against tight deadlines
• Available to work 40 hours per week, with at least Tuesdays-Thursdays in the office

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of project management software
• Demonstrated interest in marketing, communications, or journalism
• Knowledge of wireframing, prototyping, HTML/CSS
