About the position

As a Graphic Designer in the Development Department at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, you will play a crucial role in advancing the philanthropic goals of the health system. This newly established position is designed for a creative individual who will execute and oversee the creation of engaging graphics and assets across various media. Your work will involve close collaboration with fundraising professionals to develop highly personalized, branded print and digital communications aimed at inspiring and motivating individuals and businesses to contribute to Cincinnati Children's. You will ensure that all visual elements meet brand standards while working in partnership with enterprise designers and art directors. In this role, you will support fundraising efforts by understanding donor motivations and the business of development, as well as the interplay between narrative and design. You will create personalized proposals, impact reports, pitch decks, and other communications that enhance the cultivation and stewardship of donors. Your technical skills will be essential as you utilize software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint) to create, edit, and finalize artwork. You will also be responsible for ensuring brand consistency across all produced materials, translating complex ideas into visually appealing designs, and presenting design concepts to stakeholders while incorporating their feedback. Additionally, you will prepare files for various printing processes, adapt artwork for different digital platforms, troubleshoot any issues related to file preparation, and conduct quality control by reviewing proofs and final files for accuracy and consistency. Responsibilities

• Support fundraising by understanding donor motivations and creating personalized proposals, impact reports, and pitch decks.
• Collaborate closely with fundraising staff and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables.
• Utilize Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools to create, edit, and finalize artwork.
• Ensure all produced materials align with brand guidelines and visual standards.
• Translate complex ideas into visually appealing and user-friendly designs.
• Present design concepts and ideas to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine the final product.
• Prepare files for various printing processes, including offset, digital, and large format.
• Adapt artwork for different digital platforms, including web, social media, and mobile applications.
• Identify and resolve issues related to file preparation, production specifications, or printing.
• Review proofs and final files for accuracy, consistency, and quality, making necessary adjustments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5-7 years of work experience in design/production or a similar role.
• Portfolio of completed graphic designs and creative projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and Adobe InDesign.
