About the position

As a Graphic Designer in Digital Media at Wolters Kluwer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and production of various digital marketing materials. Your responsibilities will encompass creating static and animated digital ads, social media graphics, email and web page visual designs, infographics, and eBook content. You will be tasked with editing images, formatting text, and utilizing digital photography or stock images as necessary to enhance the visual appeal of marketing materials. Managing the graphic design aspects of each project according to assigned schedules will be crucial, including overseeing proofing and approval cycles. You are expected to take ownership of your work, routinely identifying opportunities to improve both the work product and the project process. A proactive approach in adhering to established standards of quality and content is essential for success in this role. In this position, you will be required to possess a strong understanding of personal computer operations and demonstrate proficiency in major desktop publishing applications such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat, along with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe AfterEffects is a plus. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design colleagues, information technologists, and content experts, to ensure the successful execution of marketing projects. Efficient time management skills will be necessary to handle multiple demands and competing priorities effectively. Your role will also involve ensuring the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all marketing materials by carefully reviewing your work and adhering to established brand standards, legal use of trademarks, and naming conventions. You will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing the digital asset management (DAM) system, ensuring appropriate tagging and structure, and maintaining creative style guides for team reference. Additionally, you will work closely with the marketing team to conceptualize ideas and bring digital campaigns to life, offering innovative design solutions to meet marketing goals while staying updated on design trends across various brands and marketing channels.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce digital marketing materials including static and animated digital ads, social media graphics, email/web page visual designs, infographics, and eBook content.
  • Edit images, format text, and utilize digital photography or stock images as necessary.
  • Manage graphic design aspects of each project according to assigned schedules, including proofing and approval cycles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve work products and project processes proactively.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of all marketing materials by reviewing own work and adhering to brand standards.
  • Research and understand buyer audiences to recommend appropriate image selections.
  • Maintain and enforce the digital asset management (DAM) system with appropriate tagging and structure.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize ideas and bring digital campaigns to life.
  • Stay updated on design trends and foster optimization and evolution of style.

Requirements

  • Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience in Graphic Design.
  • 3+ years of experience in Graphic Design, with a preference for less than 7 years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency in major desktop publishing applications: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Some experience in Adobe AfterEffects is a plus.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams including project managers, design colleagues, information technologists, and content experts.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
