About the position

As a Graphic Designer in Digital Media at Wolters Kluwer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and production of various digital marketing materials. Your responsibilities will encompass creating both static and animated digital ads, social media graphics, and visual designs for emails and web pages. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing infographics and eBook content, ensuring that all materials are visually appealing and aligned with the brand's standards. You will utilize your skills in editing images, formatting text, and incorporating digital photography or stock images as needed. In this position, you will manage the graphic design aspects of each project according to assigned schedules, which includes overseeing the proofing and approval cycles. Taking ownership of your work is crucial, as you will routinely identify opportunities to enhance both the work product and the project process. A proactive approach to maintaining established standards of quality and content is essential for success in this role. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, design colleagues, information technologists, and content experts, to ensure that all marketing projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Your ability to allocate time efficiently and handle multiple demands will be key to meeting and exceeding the expectations of internal customers. The role also involves ensuring the quality, accuracy, and consistency of all marketing materials by carefully reviewing your work and adhering to established brand standards. You will be responsible for maintaining the digital asset management (DAM) system, ensuring appropriate tagging and structure, and upholding creative style guides for the team's reference. Staying updated on design trends and fostering the evolution of style will be part of your creative responsibilities, as you work closely with the marketing team to conceptualize and bring digital campaigns to life.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce digital marketing materials including static and animated digital ads, social media graphics, and email/web page visual designs.
  • Edit images and format text, utilizing digital photography or stock images as necessary.
  • Manage graphic design aspects of each project according to assigned schedules, including proofing and approval cycles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve work products and project processes proactively.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency of all marketing materials by reviewing own work and adhering to brand standards.
  • Research and understand buyer audiences to recommend appropriate image selections.
  • Maintain and enforce the digital asset management (DAM) system with appropriate tagging and structure.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to conceptualize ideas and bring digital campaigns to life.
  • Stay updated on design trends and foster optimization and evolution of style.

Requirements

  • Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience in Graphic Design.
  • 3+ years of experience in Graphic Design, with a preference for less than 7 years of professional experience.
  • Proficient in major desktop publishing applications: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Some experience in Adobe AfterEffects is a plus.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams including project managers, design colleagues, information technologists, and content experts.
