About the position

The Graphic Designer II at The Pokémon Company International is a pivotal role that involves conceptualizing, designing, and producing print and digital graphic layouts, assets, and logos for various departments within the company. This includes Marketing, Licensing, Sales, Corporate Creative Design, and Internal Communications. The position requires a creative problem solver who can work flexibly within strict brand guidelines while maintaining high-quality standards. The designer will work under the guidance of the Creative Services Design Manager and Creative Director, ensuring that all designs align with Pokémon's brand identity and production standards. In this role, the Graphic Designer II will be responsible for the entire graphic development process, from initial concept through to final design and delivery of files for both print and digital applications. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential, as the designer will participate in meetings, discussions, and presentations throughout the development process. Attention to detail is crucial, as the designer will contribute to multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to schedules and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a strong graphic design portfolio and a minimum of three to four years of relevant professional experience. A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A passion for the Pokémon brand and a commitment to quality and integrity are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completion of all graphic development and production steps from concept through final design, and any associated file deliveries for print or digital applications.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings, discussions, and presentations as part of the development process.
  • Demonstrate in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in graphic design, and basic knowledge of related areas such as marketing and licensing.
  • Maintain strict attention to detail.
  • Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously while keeping on schedule.
  • Work independently to create and execute design for all categories of assigned brand.
  • Meet all department and corporate business requirements, including those regarding work hours, conduct, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to four (4) years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
  • Strong graphic design portfolio required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Proficient in producing design work aligned with brand requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work independently on an assignment.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite or other similar design software.
