About the position

As a Graphic Designer II at Texas A&M University, you will play a crucial role in visual communications, creating high-quality graphics for various platforms including the website, technical reports, and social media. Your expertise in drafting and 3D modeling will be essential in producing detailed drawings and renderings of buildings and structures. You will also manage the production of the Annual Report, maintain the photo library, and design engaging motion graphics, ensuring brand continuity across all publications and providing support at Center-hosted events.

Responsibilities

  • Creates expert-level graphics for the Center website, technical reports, and other publications including Tierra Grande magazine and social media.
  • Creates expert-level technical drawings, images, and renderings of 3D models with drafting and 3D modeling software.
  • Generates topographic maps with Google Earth.
  • Manages production and post-production for the Annual Report, developing production schedules and themes.
  • Maintains Center brand continuity and design standards, coordinating processes with research staff.
  • Maintains the photo library, cataloging and preparing images for use in publications and online media.
  • Produces routine and ad hoc Google Analytics statistics reports.
  • Provides backup to editorial staff for website content uploads and participates in Graphics and Communications Team meetings.
  • Acts as a backup liaison with vendors for communications activities and meets production timelines.
  • Designs booth display areas for industry events and consults with staff on various projects for graphic support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphics Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience in graphics design, web development, print and electronic media, marketing, or related design field.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom).
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with motion graphics creation for web and multimedia presentations.
  • Familiarity with TAMU branding guidelines.
