About the position

The Graphic Designer - Illustrator at Simply Southern will collaborate with the Art Director and team to create original designs for apparel, catalog layouts, and digital advertisements. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and proficiency in design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite. The designer will contribute to maintaining the brand's visual consistency and adapt to current market trends while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create attractive pieces based on existing layouts.
• Maintain visual consistency of the company brands to meet marketing goals.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines.
• Organize and maintain electronic files and project folders for effective archival and retrieval.
• Design in a variety of styles.
• Adapt to and evolve upon the brand aesthetic and current trends in the market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 1 year of professional experience and/or training required.
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of Flash, CSS, Javascript; front-end development skills a plus.
• Microsoft Office experience required (Word, Excel, Office).
• Highly creative with experience in the apparel/t-shirt industry.
• Knowledge of screen-printing process and separations is preferable.
• Ability to excel under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Ability to take direction and creative criticism well.
• Ability to work well with others on a team as well as complete projects individually.
• Proficient on the Mac OS platform, adept at Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign as well as Wacom Tablet illustration.
• Attention to detail, creative thinking, and commitment to high-quality work.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the apparel/t-shirt industry.
• Knowledge of screen-printing process and separations.
