About the position

The Graphic Designer / Inside Sales Representative role at FASTSIGNS® of Durham, NC is a dual-function position that combines creative design work with sales responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and assembling signs while also engaging with clients throughout the sales process. This position requires a detail-oriented and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Create computer-generated vinyl and full-color graphics output.
• Assemble signs from computer cut vinyl and wide format full-color printouts.
• Proofread and conduct quality assurance to ensure accuracy of signs.
• Answer phones and respond to client emails professionally.
• Build estimates and orders using the CRM online system.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients throughout the sales process.
• Consult with clients on design and sales status, both in person and over the phone.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records of file storage and disks.
• Prepare substrates for application and perform finishing operations such as laminating and mounting of printed pieces.
• Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter or printer.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; advanced education in design/communication preferred.
• Experience as a graphic designer and sign-related production specialist preferred but not required.
• Adobe application knowledge required; 3+ years experience preferred, but less is acceptable for the right candidate.
• Strong PC and Mac skills and internet proficiency required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions).
• Ability to work well under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds occasionally and 25 or more pounds regularly.
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
• Willingness to learn how to use light power equipment, such as power screwdrivers and drills.
