About the position

Williams Lea is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team in Columbus, OH or Wheeling, WV. This full-time position requires working Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, offering a competitive pay rate of $21.75 per hour. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing creative and effective design solutions for customer materials across both print and digital media. This role is essential in ensuring that all design projects align with the firm's identity standards and meet client expectations. The Graphic Designer will utilize appropriate logs and tracking software to manage presentation work, thoroughly assess job requests, and ensure the completion of tasks throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include executing design and production projects, creating publications, advertisements, signage, and PowerPoint presentations, as well as conducting image searches and resizing photos for various uses. Collaboration with the Marketing Communications team and business development staff is crucial to create new materials that cater to the needs of the firm's practices. In addition to design work, the Graphic Designer will perform quality assurance on their own work and that of others, troubleshoot basic software or hardware issues, and maintain effective communication with team members and clients regarding job deadlines and concerns. The role requires a proactive approach to service enhancement and relationship building with clients, ensuring that all projects are completed in a timely manner while adhering to company policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative and effective design solutions for customer materials through print and digital media.
  • Utilize appropriate logs and tracking software for all presentation work.
  • Thoroughly assess job requests and ensure appropriate completion of job tasks throughout the task lifecycle.
  • Execute design and production projects in compliance with the firm's identity standards.
  • Create publications, advertisements, signage, and PowerPoint presentations based on the firm's templates.
  • Conduct image searches, cropping, and resizing of photos and other images for reuse.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications team members and business development staff to create new materials.
  • Perform work in presentation design, including creating pitch books and materials.
  • Edit, proof, and create presentation requests to client satisfaction using established procedures and standards.
  • Communicate with team members, leads, supervisors, or clients on job or deadline concerns.
  • Meet contracted deadlines for service delivery to clients.
  • Troubleshoot basic software or hardware problems as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance on own work and/or work of others as requested.
  • Adhere to Williams Lea Tag policies and client policies.
  • Handle a daily influx of tickets for changes submitted by various lawyers and secretaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Graphic Design, or Communications required.
  • Minimum of three to five years of graphic design experience, preferably in a legal, banking, or large corporate environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong keyboarding and typing skills.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, including working with templates, masters, transitions, and animations.
  • Advanced skills in Word, including working with templates, paragraph styles, and automatic fields.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including chart building and basic formulas.
  • High level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Understanding of digital and print differences, including color spaces and image treatment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a legal or banking environment.
  • Knowledge of web design and animation.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and working with PDFs.
