About the position

Adams Publishing Group is seeking a skilled newspaper page designer who has the ability to perform quickly and bring stories alive in print. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, essential tools for creating visually appealing layouts. A background in journalism, particularly with AP wire editing and familiarity with the BLOX content management system, is considered a bonus. This position requires versatility, as the designer will be responsible for the design of larger papers and will also assist in creating content for all of our publications. The role demands strong communication skills, as the designer will need to converse with editors over an instant messaging system to ensure that the design aligns with editorial standards and expectations. Adams Publishing Group has adopted a shared template to help standardize and simplify the design process across all of our publications, which includes over 150 titles. This standardization is crucial for maintaining quality and efficiency in the design workflow. Working remotely is a requirement for this position, as our designers are now operating across the country. The ability to collaborate effectively as a team player is more important than ever, especially as we look to expand and enhance the quality of our publications serviced by our design center. Our full-time designers are expected to clock 37.5 hours per week, with the flexibility to work either day or night shifts, including holidays. APG offers a comprehensive range of benefits, including health insurance and paid time off (PTO) for full-time employees.
