About the position

The Graphic Designer (Print & Packaging) at Nintendo of America Inc. is responsible for creating innovative design solutions for various print projects, adhering to brand guidelines, and collaborating with internal teams. This role involves leading design efforts for software titles, contributing to team success, and supporting cross-functional projects while staying updated on emerging design technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Designs creative solutions for internal requests using strong technical skills.
  • Understands and adheres to brand guidelines and style guides.
  • Understands company priorities.
  • Understands emerging technologies and innovation in the world of design, bringing that knowledge back to the team.
  • Acts as the lead designer on software titles, setting creative direction and communicating it to other designers.
  • Provides input, feedback, and constructive assessment on designs to the team.
  • Identifies areas of improvement in the design department.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with other designers and clients.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the team.
  • Handles occasional large scale projects and packaging assignments as assigned by the manager.
  • Creates layouts for various print projects including logos, packaging, manuals, and marketing materials.
  • Designs software packaging, inserts, and label art.
  • Collaborates with internal teams such as the Localization team for game manual and packaging layouts.
  • Participates in group work by providing comps, ideas, and criticism in a positive way.
  • Supports cross-functionally with other members of the design team when needed.
  • May assist with event and tradeshow graphics such as banners, posters, and fliers.

Requirements

  • Strong technical skills in graphic design and layout creation.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to print and packaging design.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to brand guidelines and style guides.
  • Experience in leading design projects and setting creative direction.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with internal teams and clients.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and assess designs critically.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event and tradeshow graphic design.
  • Familiarity with game packaging and marketing materials.
  • Understanding of localization processes for game manuals.
