About the position

The Graphic Designer/Screen Printing Production Artist role at Kimpton Printing and Specialties involves developing layouts and production designs for printed apparel and other print media. The position requires creativity and technical skills to recreate artwork, prepare files for production, and collaborate with clients and press technicians in a laid-back work environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to go over projects and proofs through email and in-person.
• Design a variety of project types ranging from logos, signage, banners, print collateral, and apparel.
• Maintain excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Create custom graphics with creativity.
• Prep press files for production.
• Collaborate with press technicians to achieve seamless workflow.
• Produce cut vinyl, weed, and mask.
• Maintain an organized file database.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
• Knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat is a plus.
• Experience in screen printing and related processes (printing film, color separation, etc.).
• A strong portfolio of past projects.
• Understanding of file preparation and pre-press/production work (vector art, art recreation, digital print specs, bleeds, crop marks, etc.).
