About the position

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a temporary Graphic Designer to coordinate, develop, and design publications and web graphics. This role involves working independently under the direction of the Court Executive 2b, utilizing creative critical thinking and problem-solving skills to execute graphic design projects from conception to completion. The designer will ensure adherence to branding guidelines and ADA compliance while staying updated on design trends, particularly those used by government organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and develop graphic design projects including brochures, pamphlets, and reports.
  • Research stock photos and prepare graphics for website updates.
  • Meet with content providers to articulate graphic design needs for print and electronic publications.
  • Assist with the production of photography for publications.
  • Design exhibits and displays for special statewide events.
  • Plan the implementation of assigned projects, including ongoing redesigns of publications.
  • Ensure compliance with Judiciary branding guidelines and ADA standards.
  • Provide technical advice regarding graphic design processes for publications and the Judiciary website.
  • Develop innovative ways to prioritize and handle a fast-paced workload.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Five years of professional experience in program development, coordination, analysis, or administration.
  • Experience with graphic design, graphic arts, or digital illustration is a must.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and HTML software such as Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Word, and Publisher.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Experience in a government organization is preferred.
