About the position

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Graphic Designer to join their team. This role focuses on creating innovative, consumer-centric designs in the apparel industry, with a focus on translating emerging design trends into compelling product solutions. The ideal candidate will bring advanced design craft, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of apparel product creation. This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for researching and developing products from conception to retail, ensuring alignment with consumer needs and market demands. The role requires generating new ideas and solutions for performance-based products that create competitive advantages. Collaboration with product creation teams is essential to develop and realize new product concepts across various business units. The designer will define protocols for testing and validating product concepts, utilizing new technologies or construction processes. In addition, the Graphic Designer will engineer prototypes and develop advanced product concepts with a keen attention to construction materials and processes. Leading innovation projects will involve coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, including product creation, manufacturing, and third-party vendors. The designer will deliver state-of-the-art solutions for complex challenges through imaginative and feasible approaches, creating and presenting clear documentation to inform internal stakeholders of new innovations and best practices. Mentoring and onboarding design teammates will also be a key aspect of this role, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in graphic design, preferably in apparel product creation or agency work.
  • Passion for and understanding of current and emerging design trends, visual culture, and consumer insights.
  • Strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills (Illustrator, Photoshop) and familiarity with digital design spaces.
  • Expertise in illustration, typography, brand identity, color theory, and graphic applications.
  • Knowledge of repeat pattern creation, textile printing techniques, and translating designs from digital to physical.
  • Basic knowledge of garment construction and apparel product creation processes.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities, with the ability to onboard and guide teammates.
  • Positive energy, passion for design innovation, and a collaborative spirit.
