About the position

The Graphic Designer at Children of Promise NYC (CPNYC) is a part-time role focused on creating engaging graphics that support the organization's mission to advocate for children impacted by mass incarceration. The designer will collaborate with marketing and development teams to produce visuals for fundraising, program awareness, and community outreach initiatives, primarily using Squarespace for web design and content updates.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage web graphics and layouts on Squarespace, designing landing pages and updating website content.
• Design compelling direct mail pieces to support fundraising campaigns and donor communications.
• Develop digital assets for social media, email newsletters, event promotions, and online advertising.
• Collaborate with marketing, development, and program teams to understand design needs and execute aligned visuals.
• Ensure all design work reflects CPNYC's mission and maintains visual consistency across all channels.
• Accept feedback gracefully and make revisions to achieve desired visual and functional outcomes.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of professional graphic design experience, ideally with a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Squarespace for web design.
• Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and responsive design principles.
• Ability to produce clean, polished designs with close attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
