The Graphic Designer position at FASTSIGNS involves creating computer-generated graphics and vinyl outputs that can be weeded, cut, applied, printed, and mounted to various substrates. This role requires a blend of artistic creativity and technical skills to produce designs based on customer drawings, files, or exact outputs of customer-provided designs. The designer will be responsible for ensuring that the final product meets the client's specifications and quality standards. The position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate both the employee's and the company's needs, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. In this role, the Graphic Designer will manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines. They will need to read and interpret work orders, allocate appropriate time for each task, and determine the best output methods based on customer requirements. The designer will collaborate with co-workers and customers on file transfers, utilize FTP access, and manage photo library options. They will also be responsible for selecting the size and arrangement of illustrative materials and copy, choosing styles and sizes of type, and arranging layouts according to available space and production requirements. Additionally, the designer will prepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction, ensuring accuracy before sending jobs to output. They will maintain a customer logo library, convert graphic files, and source images while adhering to copyright laws. The role also includes providing proofs for customer approval and maintaining accurate electronic records of file storage in line with brand standards. Communication with sales/service members and the production team is essential to ensure job requirements and inventory needs are met. The designer will also perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs as necessary, while embodying the brand mentality of “Everybody Sells” by constantly seeking sales opportunities for the center.
