About the position

The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is seeking an innovative and collaborative Graphic Designer to join our dynamic and creative team. This role is pivotal in shaping MOCA's visual identity across various platforms, including print, digital, and social media. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment and have a passion for art and design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the artistic direction for MOCA's design projects in both print and digital media.
  • Ensure visual consistency across all materials, including exhibition graphics, educational tools, banners, ads, and web communications.
  • Design materials for exhibitions, education, and program promotions, including print invitations, brochures, signage, and digital content such as website graphics and social media posts.
  • Collaborate with departments to create designs that align with exhibition and project goals.
  • Manage projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
  • Maintain and update MOCA's website for optimal performance and content accuracy.
  • Handle multiple design projects simultaneously and meet production schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of design experience, preferably in a museum or cultural setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and knowledge of design trends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Familiarity with Web Flow.
  • Strong project management skills and experience working with external vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and Adobe Premiere.
  • Interest and passion for the arts, especially in an art museum context.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole is a plus.
