As a staff member in the Office of Communication & Marketing at Washington & Jefferson College, the Graphic Designer plays a crucial role in the production of a diverse array of creative projects that support various offices and departments across the campus. This position requires a blend of creativity and technical skills, as the Graphic Designer will be responsible for graphic design, web design, document design, as well as photography and videography. The role involves utilizing a project management system to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and effectively, adhering to established schedules and quality standards. The Graphic Designer will design and layout a wide variety of printed and digital assets that align with the college's initiatives and goals for both internal and external audiences. This includes coordinating and executing communications and marketing materials for significant institutional events such as Matriculation, the Symposium on Democracy, and Commencement. As a brand steward, the Graphic Designer will maintain and enhance the W&J brand image across all creative deliverables, ensuring consistency and quality in all outputs. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Graphic Designer will be expected to conceptualize, contribute, and communicate ideas effectively with project stakeholders and the larger communications team. The position also requires accountability for photographing events or coordinating photography, managing the Photoshelter system for organizing and approving campus photography, and being available for coverage of institutional events.
