About the position

Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization located in Midtown Manhattan, founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Over the years, CPG has expanded its mission to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing. The Content & Creative Services (CCS) department is responsible for creating compelling communications that support CPG's strategic plan and its three lines of business. This role of Graphic Designer is crucial in both communications and digital design, contributing high-impact visual content for both digital and traditional media. As a Graphic Designer, you will report to the Design and Digital Experience Director and work closely with them to create compelling designs that adhere to brand guidelines and support strategic business goals. You will be expected to assist in designing digital content for various platforms, develop structured documents and presentations, and support the design of traditional media such as brochures and advertisements. Collaboration with marketing and communications teams is essential to ensure that design solutions meet content specifications and project objectives. The position requires effective time management to meet deadlines in a team setting, as well as the ability to adapt designs based on feedback from team members and stakeholders. Regular in-person interaction with colleagues is necessary for relationship building and meaningful collaboration, making this a dynamic and engaging role within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing digital content for websites, social media, email campaigns, advertisements, and other online platforms.
  • Develop structured, template-based documents and presentations using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, incorporating complex styles and formatting.
  • Support the design of traditional media, including documents, brochures, flyers, and advertisements.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to ensure design solutions meet content specifications and project objectives.
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a team setting and maintain communication with team members on project status.
  • Adapt designs based on feedback from team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall brand and marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years design experience, preferably within a corporate creative team.
  • BA/BS in Graphic Design or a related discipline preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Well-versed in both digital and print design standards and practices.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and think critically about the work assigned.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of problem-solving and adapting to feedback.
  • Experience in web design with a basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Figma or similar UX/UI prototyping tool experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of content management systems and digital marketing tools.
  • Additional skills in video editing and animation.
