About the position

The Graphic Designer will collaborate with various departments such as news, promotions, internet, and sales to produce on-air still and motion graphics using advanced broadcast technology. The role involves maintaining and enhancing the graphic aesthetic of the station while managing and organizing graphic needs for multiple projects. The designer will interact with news management and producers to create visually compelling designs that enhance storytelling in daily newscasts.

Responsibilities

  • Create on-air still and motion graphics for various departments.
  • Maintain and advance the graphic look of the station.
  • Manage and organize all graphic needs and related files for multiple projects.
  • Interact daily with news management, producers, and directors to create visually compelling designs.
  • Design and build graphics for nightly newscasts, including full screen monitor graphics, over the shoulder graphics, maps, mugshots, and information graphics.
  • Work primarily with template-driven graphics using Photoshop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator & Premiere Pro).
  • Experience with Ross Xpression dual channel graphics system.
  • Hands-on experience working in a live production environment.
  • Operation of Ross Xpression or Chyron graphics system and integration of ENPS newsroom solutions software is recommended.
  • Clear communication skills to interact with newscast director and flexibility to work in rapidly changing situations.
  • Experience with technical television news production, graphics design, and/or electronic media.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $22.00+/hr commensurate with experience and skill level.
