About the position

The Graphic Designer at Southern Seminary is responsible for creating engaging visual content that communicates the institution's story across various platforms. This role involves developing designs for both digital and print media while maintaining brand consistency and collaborating with communication teams to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design illustrations, layouts, and designs for digital and print media, including brochures, catalogs, direct mail, corporate identity, packaging, presentations, promotional displays, and signage.
  • Maintain a consistent visual brand style across all platforms and ensure designs align with the brand's identity and goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Communication and client teams to define and understand project requirements and create cohesive designs.
  • Review and enhance existing graphics, providing innovative design solutions.
  • Generate drafts and mockups of proposed designs for the client to review. Implement feedback and changes as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Review graphics, layouts, fonts, colors, and sizing before passing work to the production coordinator. Provide press-ready files of all assigned projects.
  • Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Excellent proficiency of the full Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (Mac based).
  • Proficiency in designing for both digital and print media.

Nice-to-haves

  • Capability to create original illustrations or graphics by hand or using digital tools is desired but not required.
