About the position

Dexter Southfield School is seeking a talented and collaborative Graphic Designer to join its Marketing and Communications team. This role focuses on conceptualizing, designing, and producing a variety of materials for both print and digital channels to support the School's communications and branding initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and strong visual communication skills, while effectively representing the School's values and community.

Responsibilities

  • Create a broad array of materials for print, including posters, signage, brochures, mailers, fundraising appeals, booklets, and annual reports.
  • Design digital assets such as emails, invitations, website graphics, reports, and presentation decks to support school events and campaigns.
  • Curate and edit photos that authentically reflect the School's programs, values, and community, ensuring visual consistency and alignment with brand standards.
  • Uphold the School's brand identity across all projects, bringing fresh ideas that elevate the brand and updating the brand guide as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to understand and meet their design needs.
  • Partner with printers and other vendors to produce high-quality materials, managing print production and other third-party services as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in both print and digital design.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is required; Canva and Microsoft Office experience is preferred.
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines; ability to edit and adapt brand elements as needed.
  • Excellent proofreading skills, with an ability to interpret and organize content in branded, visually engaging designs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to prioritize projects, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative environment.
