About the position

Mizzou Marketing is seeking a talented graphic designer to join our dynamic creative team. This position is crucial for the execution, delivery, and continuous improvement of our multi-channel campaign work and brand collateral. The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated and experienced designer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The graphic designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing a variety of creative materials, including print collateral, digital advertising, out-of-home advertising, environmental branding, and executive presentations. This role requires a strong understanding of brand stewardship and quality control, ensuring that all designs adhere to the university's brand guidelines and maintain brand integrity and recognition. In this role, the designer will collaborate closely with the creative team, led by the Associate Director of Creative Strategy, to conceptualize assets and deliverables. Clear communication, the ability to take direction, and professionalism in receiving feedback are essential for success in this position. The designer will also be expected to stay updated on design and higher education industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance their skills and contribute fresh ideas to the team. The work schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week, providing a structured yet creative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ideate, design, create, and edit creative materials including print collateral, digital advertising, and environmental branding.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize assets and deliverables, following team processes and communicating clearly.
  • Ensure consistent application of the university's brand guidelines across all designs to maintain brand integrity.
  • Review design deliverables to ensure they meet high standards of quality and align with project objectives.
  • Stay updated on design and higher education industry trends to enhance skills and bring fresh ideas to the team.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in graphic design or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design or related field.
  • Experience with environmental branding, motion graphics, or illustration.
