Grand Sierra Resort and Casino Advertising Department is seeking a talented graphic designer. The ideal candidate will be proficient in graphic design, digital design, and pre-press. The candidate must have an excellent working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign programs. Design projects include direct mail, marketing collateral, in-house signage, video, and digital design. A candidate must present a portfolio of work to be considered. This role requires a results-oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests and team members. The candidate must have the ability to resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. A qualified candidate will be able to provide a proven track record of success in executing each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The candidate must be able to listen and respond to client and management inquiries in a positive and professional manner. The ability to multi-task and remain focused in high-pressure situations is essential. The position requires a college diploma or university degree, preferably in Graphic Design and/or Marketing. Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted for degree requirements. A minimum of four years of experience in Graphic Design or a related field is required, with previous casino or hotel industry experience preferred. The successful candidate must possess exceptional visual skills with the ability to accurately communicate projects to clients and management. A high-level understanding of interpersonal skills is necessary to productively deal with business contacts and team members at all levels of the company. Strong attention to detail and engaging presentation skills are crucial. The candidate must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, clients, and the general public. Reasoning ability is also important, as the candidate must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills are a must.
