About the position

The Graphic Designer at Kehoe Designs Inc. plays a crucial role in providing innovative graphic design services that support the sales department and various graphic initiatives. This position is responsible for managing graphics projects and coordinating all related details, ensuring that the design and execution align with the company's vision and client expectations. The designer will work closely with the graphics department to assist in the completion of design, signage, and custom-built graphic projects, while also maintaining and managing the inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment used in the graphics department. In this role, the Graphic Designer will utilize their creativity and technical skills to produce eye-catching conceptual and computer graphic designs using the latest Mac-based software, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. The designer will assess and adjust designs to bring themes and clients' visions to life, collaborating with other graphic designers and design teams across the company to achieve cohesive design aesthetics that align with project goals. The position requires strong time management skills to coordinate multiple projects with overlapping deadlines, ensuring that all deliverables are produced on time and to a high standard. Additionally, the Graphic Designer will participate in meetings with sales and production managers to plan project objectives and concepts, prepare visual instructions for graphic production workers, and maintain proper project file management. The role also includes compliance with safety guidelines and procedures, mentoring safe work practices, and completing necessary HR and payroll tasks. Overall, the Graphic Designer is expected to embody the company's mission and values by delivering quality work, demonstrating professionalism, and contributing to a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create eye-catching conceptual and computer graphic designs using Mac-based software for event decor.
  • Assess and adjust designs to align with themes and client visions.
  • Collaborate with other graphic designers and design teams to achieve cohesive design aesthetics.
  • Coordinate, prioritize, proofread, and produce logos, collateral, custom signage, and environmental graphics for multiple projects.
  • Utilize time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain and coordinate proper project file management on computer, server, and storage media.
  • May take on project management roles for various projects.
  • Participate in meetings as a representative of the department.
  • Meet with sales and production managers to plan project objectives and concepts.
  • Prepare pull sheets and visual instructions for graphic production workers.

Requirements

  • A college degree in Graphic Design (specifically BS or BFA).
  • Prior graphic design experience is required.
  • Knowledge and proven experience with current creative and production software including Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, etc.
  • Strong conceptual design skills and sense of style.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, pay attention to details, manage fluctuating priorities, and work fast and efficiently.
  • Great attitude and team player.
  • Knowledge of large-scale graphic designs is a plus.

  • Experience with large-scale graphic designs.
