About the position

Our client, a popular home and textile company, is seeking a Graphic Designer to join their team in Hazlet, New Jersey. This position is a temp-to-hire opportunity, offering a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $80,000. The Graphic Designer will play a crucial role in designing assets for various categories of bedding, utilizing the Adobe Suite to create visually appealing and brand-consistent designs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for following specific guidelines for each customer and brand image, ensuring that all designs align with the company's standards and expectations. In this role, the Graphic Designer will develop templates and specifications for the production team, review both soft and hard proofs of assets from overseas offices, and provide necessary comments and approvals. Coordination with production timelines is essential to ensure a smooth process from design to production. The designer will also create art files for production as needed and collaborate closely with the production team to ensure the accurate creation of packaging art files. Additionally, the Graphic Designer will assist in the creative development of marketing collateral and website uploads, contributing to the overall branding and marketing efforts of the company. The role may also involve assisting in the development of new brands, making it a dynamic position that requires creativity and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Design assets for all categories of bedding using Adobe Suite.
• Follow guidelines for each customer and brand image.
• Develop templates and specifications for production team.
• Review soft and hard proofs of assets from overseas offices.
• Provide comments and approvals, coordinating with production timelines for a smooth process.
• Create art files for production as needed and collaborate with production team for the accurate creation of packaging art files.
• Assist in the creative development of marketing collateral and website uploads.
• Assist in the development of new brands.

Requirements

• 5+ years work experience in graphic design or related field.
• Experience with creative concepts, layout/composition, typography, brand development, and packaging.
• Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and general functions of Excel.
• Strong understanding of packaging artwork preparation, including die lines, score/folds, proper dimensioning, color/material specifications, and special feature call outs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on file accuracy, consistency, and quality execution.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team-driven environment.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
