About the position

The City of North Las Vegas is excited to announce the opening for the position of Graphic Designer. This role is crucial in supporting the city's visual communication efforts and ensuring that all graphic materials align with the city's branding and graphic standards. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating artwork that meets the style and content specifications set forth by the city. This includes collaborating with various stakeholders to conceptualize and design a wide range of visual applications, such as corporate identification, logos, advertising materials, web graphics, manuals, charts, diagrams, and other multimedia content. In this position, the Graphic Designer will plan and develop both written and visual materials using traditional methods as well as modern computer-aided desktop publishing and graphic development techniques. The role requires a keen eye for detail, as the designer will proof and press check various written materials in both digital and traditional print formats. Additionally, the designer will be tasked with creating logos, charts, graphs, and developing camera-ready artwork that meets the city's standards. The City of North Las Vegas is looking for candidates who are not only skilled in graphic design but also possess the ability to work collaboratively with different departments to ensure that all visual communications effectively convey the intended message. This position is not remote and requires in-person attendance, with a work schedule from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The salary for this position ranges from $62,947.79 to $100,282.00, depending on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Create artwork that conforms to the style and content specifications of the City's graphic standard.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish the concept and design for various visual applications.
• Plan and develop written and visual materials using conventional methods and computer-aided desktop publishing.
• Proof and press check various written materials in both digital and traditional print formats.
• Design logos, charts, graphs, and develop camera-ready artwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, Computer Graphics or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of professional work experience in conventional and computerized graphic design, desktop publishing, and similar graphic presentation work.
• Public Sector experience is preferred.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Nevada state driver's license and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
