About the position

We are seeking a talented, part-time graphic designer to support the marketing functions of our 12 Bay Area garden centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their ability to create eye-catching designs that effectively communicate brand messages. Applicants must have a thorough understanding of design principles, typography, color, and layout. The ideal candidate will have an interest in plants and gardening. Additional experience in marketing or retail is a plus. Join our team and help us create beautiful and impactful visual communication for gardeners! This position is 24 hours per week. Wage is dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

• Design social media graphics, website content, direct mail pieces, email newsletters, retail signs, event calendars, banners, and more.
• Perform light video editing as needed.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Utilize InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere for design work.
• Work with WordPress for website-related tasks.
• Handle production work that may not always be creative in nature.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating design skills and creativity.
• Thorough understanding of design principles, typography, color, and layout.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Expertise in using InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere.
• Experience with WordPress is preferred.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• A sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.
