About the position

The Graphic Designer at Pratt Industries is responsible for preparing artwork for various printing processes, including flexographic, lithographic, and digital printing. This role requires strong technical expertise in prepress-related software and collaboration with customers and sales representatives to create production-friendly graphics files that meet client specifications.

Responsibilities

• Present ideas and designs to sales representatives and customers
• Work with 3D software to achieve clients' packaging goals
• Convert artwork to print for flexographic, lithographic and digital presses
• Collaborate with in-house structural design and press professionals to produce the desired end product
• Produce prototypes and high-quality digital color proofs
• Follow press guidelines for proper color separation and trapping requirements
• Attend press checks to ensure the quality and color accuracy of printed products
• Validate printing plates and label proofs from vendors
• Maintain cutting edge technical knowledge
• Follow imaging and prepress workflow procedures

Requirements

• Two years or more experience in a prepress environment
• Experience in package design and flexographic printing
• Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop expertise
• Solution-driven with the ability to work through problems
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational skills

Nice-to-haves

• Associate degree or higher
• GMG color software experience
• Experience with Hybrid software: Packz and IC3D
• Familiar with Adobe InDesign
• Experience in four-color process printing methods
• Experience in the corrugated packaging industry
