About the position

The Graphic Designer at Alterra Mountain Company will be part of the in-house Creative Production Team, reporting directly to the Graphic Design Manager. This role involves creating visual marketing materials for both traditional and digital media, supporting the Ikon Pass and Alterra Mountain Company communications. The designer will work in a fast-paced environment, translating ideas into images and layouts, and will also engage in video editing approximately 30% of the time. The position emphasizes collaboration with other creative team members and adherence to brand guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Create visual aspects of marketing materials for both traditional and digital media, including print, brochures, signage, booth design, website, email, and social media.
  • Work within brand standards and existing campaign platforms established by the creative Agency of Record.
  • Assemble design elements such as icons, photographs, and videos for new marketing communication elements.
  • Collaborate with a copywriter to develop and execute creative concepts and content that meet marketing objectives.
  • Liaise with resort photographers and videographers to obtain necessary imagery for projects.
  • Ensure files are created to appropriate specifications for print vendors and media platforms in collaboration with the print production team.
  • Create short video edits for internal and social media usage using professional and social media-based software.

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of professional working experience as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, Digital Production Artist, or Video Editor.
  • Extensive experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is mandatory.
  • Experience in video editing software (Adobe Premier / After Effects, etc.) required.
  • Working knowledge of HTML5 or CSS3 preferred.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to meet ongoing fast-paced deadlines.
  • A motivated self-starter who can work collaboratively with a team and independently.
  • Ability to welcome, absorb, and apply daily constructive feedback to work.
  • Adaptive design eye and skill set.
  • Strong knowledge of the ski/snowboard industry.

  • Professional/lived experience proactively marketing and communicating to diverse audiences, including underrepresented communities.
