About the position

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to join our Austin South, TX office. This position is not remote and requires a dedicated professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. As a Graphic Designer, you will work independently while collaborating with other Designers and Marketing professionals to understand and translate the client's vision into a variety of deliverables. Your role will involve developing graphic covers, templates, layouts, and supporting graphics for marketing pursuits, ensuring that all materials align with the client's visual guidelines and branding standards. In this position, you will create presentations, aerial map exhibits, and multimedia graphics that effectively communicate project details and marketing messages. You will also be responsible for designing tailored print and digital brochures, as well as graphics for conferences and events. Additionally, you will design digital campaigns aimed at gaining external recognition for the firm and its projects. As part of a large, creative, and specialized marketing team, you will partner with engineers, project managers, and technical staff to ensure that all design work meets the high standards expected by Kimley-Horn and its clients. Your role as a Graphic Designer will also require you to serve as a brand advocate for Kimley-Horn, ensuring that all visual communications reflect the company's values and commitment to quality. You will need to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining consistent quality and accuracy, even under tight deadlines. Flexibility to work outside normal business hours may be necessary to meet project demands, and occasional travel may be required to support remote projects and teams.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 4+ years of corporate and/or agency experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or similar
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to use InDesign software for layout of complex documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A positive, collaborative, solution-seeking attitude, and a high sense of personal responsibility
  • Desire to learn new skills, manage tasks and teams, participate in process improvement
  • Flexibility to periodically work outside normal business hours as needed
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle simultaneous, varied assignments while providing consistent quality and accuracy
